Who we are

The League of Voltaire began as a passion project back in 2021, created by me—Timothy Lerma Jr. I’ve believed in Charles Hoskinson’s vision for the future and the role Cardano would play in it ever since I first discovered it in 2018, thanks to Jason Appleton, aka The Crypto Crow. When NFTs became a reality on Cardano, I saw an opportunity to finally chase a lifelong dream: to become a writer and comic book creator. That dream gave birth to the story of Charles, his bison companion Byron, and the mysterious world of The League of Voltaire.

Bringing this vision to life wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible work of two artists who took a chance on someone with no experience writing scripts or building comic layouts. Renato Pinto and Erika Biagiola are the heart of this project’s visual soul. Their talent, support, and patience helped turn a raw idea into something beautiful, panel by panel. I’m beyond grateful to have collaborated with such dedicated and creative minds.

I’ve had a passion for comics since I was a child. Batman, Spiderman, X-men, Marvel, DC, manga, I couldn’t devour it all fast enough. I could spend hours and hours reading through, cover to cover, lost in those worlds. A good story can transport you from where you are, to somewhere you’d rather be, I believe they are the single best medium to grow your capacity for imagination. Now I get to hopefully create stories that will inspire others to chase their imaginations out of hiding.
